Scientists at Childrens Hospital in Boston committed to finding cures for a deadly type of Skin Cancer Claimed that a drug used today against arthritis is able to slow the growth of melanomas and could be combined with another drug to combat it more effectively.
In studies of laboratory tests on mice and human cancer cells, the researchers found that the leflunomide, a generic drug commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis also inhibits the growth of melanomas. If further trials prove successful, both for the leflunomide alone and in combination with PLX4032, You might be a new anti-tumor in three to five years, according to their calculations.
